Chikai-no-Oka Hill

誓いの丘

A Mt. Fuji outlook spot stationed along the Kintaro Fujimi Line, bound for Ashigara pass. It’s said that ringing the promise bell installed here will bring luck. In April and August you can catch a view of “Diamond Fuji,” when the evening sun sinks behind the mountain.

Jissoji Temple

実相寺

Said to have been built in the first year of the Kyuan Era(1145) in answer to supplications made by the monk and former emperor Tobo, this is famous as the temple where the sage Nichiren worked on his treatise, the ‘Rissho Ankoku Ron.’

Koyasumi Honjin Tokiwatei House

小休本陣常盤邸

Once used as one of the ‘Ai-no-Shuku’ (way-stations), or Daimyo rest quarters, of Tokaido, the currently standing building was erected after the Great Ansei Earthquake.
